Submission Guidelines (updated)

Hi everyone!

We hope your entries to the Original VN Festival are well underway!
Because the folders had not been explained much in the past, we thought we'd clarify.



Want to contribute art? Read this first!

Awesome! But before you submit, please make sure to mention the visual novel title somewhere in your deviation description. (It also helps if you write the character's name!) This can be your own work (OCs in VNs) or fanart. Your deviation will be accepted a lot faster when we're sure it's related to a visual novel.

Also, please refrain from submitting any fan arts not related to VN in the form of fake VN screenshots, as we no longer accept them. (It's okay if you are actually planning on making a doujin VN though! )


Folder explanations: What goes where?

Featured
Unfortunately, we're not accepting submissions to this folder. Instead, the admins choose their favorites from the other folders to put into this one.

VN Fanart + Fanfics
Any artwork or writing of your own creation related to preexisting visual novels (e.g. Hakuouki, Starry Sky) go here.

Original VN Game
This is for any deviations that were created for the purpose of getting people to download the game for their original VNs. Any flash games will go in here as well.

Doujinl VN Game
This is for any deviations that were created for the purpose of getting people to download the game for their Doujin VNs (fan-made VNs based on official work ). Any flash games will go in here as well.

Original Art and Screencaps
Any concept artwork (sketches included), promotional illustrations, or screencaps for your original VNs go here.

VN Assets
Any FINAL assets for your game (Original or Doujin) will go in here. This includes sprites, CGs, BGs, UIs, music/sound, etc.

Cosplay
Photographs of cosplays or cosplay related items (props, costumes, etc) will go here.

Miscellaneous
Everything that doesn't fall into any of the other categories. This is the only folder where we accept edited works (graphics, wallpapers, photos of your personal VN collection, etc ).

Under any circumstances, we reserve the right to reject the submission or modify its destination based on what we think would be most fitting. If you are confused as to which folder your submission should go into, feel free to ask!
